Nidhogg Resources Holding AB (publ), (the "Company", or "Nidhogg") announces that the Authority Board for Building and Environmental Affairs in Falun Municipality has decided to impose precautionary measures regarding the company''s planned crushing and recycling operations in Vintjärn. The decision means that the project can now proceed to the operational planning towards the start of operation.
The decision follows the municipality''s previous assessment that the activities do not entail significant environmental impact. The precautionary measures include, among other things, noise limitations, dust control, chemical handling, as well as requirements for control programmes and sampling.
Nidhogg is now preparing for the crushing plant, machinery and required groundworks, including installation of crushing and screening equipment, staging areas and environmental safeguards. Operations are preliminarily expected to begin in Q3 2026 following installation, test runs and approved control programs.
"The decision is an important step forward and confirms that our planned operations meet the environmental requirements set. We are now continuing the work towards the start of operations," says Niclas Biörnstad, CEO of Nidhogg Resources Holding AB.
The project involves the crushing and recycling of historically laid mining material (tailings) from the Vintjärn''s mine, which was closed in 1978.
