Xoma AB: Xoma Initiates Project with Alfa Laval for Development of Separation Technology

Xoma has entered into a collaboration with Alfa Laval to develop applications for high-speed separators aimed at efficient algae separation from water. The project is fully funded by Alfa Laval, with further discussions planned in the near term.

Xoma AB, listed on Spotlight Stock Market, has initiated a collaboration with Alfa Laval, a global leader in separation technology. The objective is to develop applications for high-speed separators to achieve efficient and sustainable algae separation from water. The project is entirely funded by Alfa Laval, meaning Xoma incurs no costs.

The collaboration builds on prior discussions between the parties and encompasses multiple development phases, with additional meetings scheduled in the near term to advance the project. The work includes testing and analysis to ensure the technology meets the requirements for commercial applications. Xoma anticipates that the project will be completed by the end of 2025, provided development proceeds as planned.

“This development marks a pivotal milestone in our journey to realize FLOW’s full potential. The project is a key piece in enabling the commercialization of FLOW and strengthening Xoma’s position in innovative technology solutions. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Alfa Laval to develop advanced separation solutions,” says Mourad Lahdo, CEO of Xoma AB.

Xoma AB was founded with the vision to revolutionize the food industry through sustainable algae cultivation.
The company has developed a world-unique system, CLAS (Closed Loop Aquaculture System), which
offers a pioneering method for growing algae in a sustainable and efficient way. This system
reduces water and energy consumption significantly compared to traditional farming methods and can
scaled up to meet the growing demand for sustainable food. Xoma's other business area is that we use our algae to purify process water from heavy metals.
