Xer Tech Holding AB: Xer Technologies Extends X8 BVLOS Capability with Gotonomi Satellite Integration

PARTNERSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT

Dietikon, Switzerland & Cambridge, UK — April 1, 2026 Xer Technologies and Gotonomi integrate the Velaris Multi-Link satellite module into the X8, enabling Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations for operators in energy, infrastructure, and government sectors.

Xer Technologies AG and Gotonomi today announce a technology partnership integrating the Gotonomi Velaris Multi-Link satellite module into the Xer X8 long-endurance multicopter. The integrated solution is commercially available and already deployed with clients in remote and connectivity-constrained environments.

The integration expands the operational capabilities of the X8 platform by enabling reliable command and control beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS), extending coverage beyond traditional radio and mobile network limitations. The X8 offers up to 2.5 hours of flight time, supporting extended mission duration in demanding operational environments.

The Gotonomi Velaris Multi-Link module provides satellite connectivity via Viasat’s L-band network, with automatic LTE failover, encrypted command and control (C2), onboard computing, and integrated GNSS. The system has a total weight of approximately 480 g (including omnidirectional antenna) and is designed to maintain overall flight performance.

The system is intended for operators in the energy, infrastructure and government sectors.

The solution is designed to be compatible with PDRA-G01 and SAIL II frameworks, subject to applicable BVLOS authorizations.

PARTNERSHIP STATEMENTS

"Connectivity has long been the limiting factor for true BVLOS operations. Integrating satellite connectivity into the X8 removes this barrier, enabling reliable operations in remote and connectivity-constrained environments."
— Erik Herlyn,
CEO, Xer Technologies AG

"The Velaris Multi-Link terminal provides resilient command and control with built-in redundancy, enabling BVLOS operations in the 25 kg drone class without materially affecting flight performance."
— Matthew Hill,
General Manager, Gotonomi
